Doris Lessing died today aged 94

She once said: 'People obviously associate me with sunset'. We shared the same literary hero (Gabriel Garcia Marquez). She won the 2007 Nobel prize for literature (only the 11th woman in 104 years of prize's history! AND after almost 40 years of being shortlisted...) and inspired many feminist writers since 'The Golden Notebook'. I am most fond of her…sci-fi series about Canopus civilisation.
